As it does every year, the editorial board of the WPROST weekly magazine, at the Health Visionaries Gala, gave awards to doctors and scientists who are changing medicine. Among the laureates were Prof. Artur Mamcarz, Head of the 3rd Department of Internal Diseases and Cardiology MUW, and Prof. Jerzy Szaflik, long-time director of the Ophthalmology Hospital MUW.

Prof. Giles Yeo answered this question at the very beginning of the lecture. How?

The ranking took into account epidural anesthesia performed in Poland during spontaneous delivery.

In 2018, at the 1st Department and Clinic of Cardiology of the Medical University of Warsaw, we performed the first successful percutaneous procedure in Poland for the treatment of severe tricuspid regurgitation with edge-to-edge reconstruction. The launch of the program was accelerated by the urgent need to help patients suffering from symptoms of severe tricuspid regurgitation that could not be treated surgically.

The ONE HEALTH conference, organized by the Health Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Program Council of the Congress "Health of the Poles", took place on March 25. During it, the winners of the third edition of the "Perspectives on Medicine" competition were announced. Among the winners were specialists from our university: Prof. Magdalena Bujalska-Zadrożny, Dr. Antonina Doroszewska, Dr. Łukasz Kołtowski and Dr. Bartosz Krzowski.

Patient organizations want to cooperate with central offices, and representatives of central offices declare that they need patients. What can be done to make the cooperation work best? This was pondered by representatives of patient foundations and associations, government officials and doctors during the PATIENTS.PRO Conference.

A great sporting feast took place in Warsaw on Sunday - the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon. Among the more than 13,000 participants there were specialists from MUW, who used the occasion to promote the idea of transplantation. They started in T-shirts with the inscription "We run together for transplantation" in the “Radosne Organki” team, thus supporting the LIVERstrong Transplantation Foundation.

The competition consisted of suturing skin with surgical tools and performing tasks on the DaVinci Robot trainer. The best turned out to be Maja Lurbecka, the second was Monika Lis, the third place went to Piotr Więckowski. The competition was accompanied by lectures on clinical practice in various surgical departments.

Prof. Dario Braga gave a presentation on solid forms of the drug. The lecture was held online and had an open format.

The Medical Examination Center has released statistics from this year's spring session of the Medical Final Examination. Of the 1128 graduates of our university who took the exam, 1119 passed. The maximum score they achieved was 193 points, the average was 167.18 points.
